A 16-year-old girl from Sigel was injured in a crash late Thursday night.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office said the girl was traveling eastbound on 1900th Avenue, about a quarter-mile east of 1750th Street, when the crash happened at 11:36pm. The vehicle left the roadway to the left due to dense fog, overcorrected, and slid sideways across a muddy field.
The car overturned once before coming to rest on the north side of the roadway, facing south.
The driver sustained minor injuries. The sheriff’s office said the driver refused EMS treatment. No citations were issued.
