Effingham St. Anthony handed Altamont a loss in high school volleyball competition Tuesday.
The Bulldogs won 25-12, 25-14. Cara Hatton led the team in kills with 12 and digs with eight while Madelyn Gilmore led in aces with three and assists with 22.
Altamont was led by Adilyn Schnarre with seven assists, Abigail Wills with four kills and Keely Fleeharty with one ace and three digs.
St. Anthony improved to 6-0 in the National Trail Conference and 16-3 overall.
The Bulldogs junior varsity won 25-23, 25-19 and the freshman/sophomore team also claimed a victory, 25-13, 25-17.
St. Anthony returns to action Thursday at Teutopolis.

Teutopolis moved its record to 17-5 on the season with a 25-17, 25-20 win over Dieterich Tuesday.
Probst led the Wooden Shoes in sets with 25 while Swingler had 24 sets and 14 assists and led in digs with 11. Zumbahlen had nine kills and three aces. Probst also had three aces. Pals and E. Meyer had one block each.
T-town was also a winner in the junior varsity contest 25-20, 25-18 to improve to 10-6 on the season.
The freshman/sophomore Wooden Shoes won 25-13, 10-25, 19-18 and is 10-3-1.
T-town will host St. Anthony Thursday during Pink Night.

Newton continues to claim victories. This time the opponent was Vandalia as the Eagles won the varsity contest, 25-17, 25-12 to improve to 19-2 on the season.
Thomann led the Eagles in aces with three. Probst had seven kills. Stanley led in assists with nine. Schumacher had seven digs and Schackmann led in blocks with three.
Newton also claimed the junior varsity contest, 25-21, 25-17 and won the freshman/sophomore match, 25-11, 25-21.
Newton is back in action Thursday at Robinson.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg tallied a 25-12, 25-15 victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in the varsity match Tuesday.
Mya Friese led the team in kills with eight and also led in aces with three. Abree Zalman had nine digs. Kendra Hayes led in assists with 18. Brooke Schumacher had one block and three block assists. Hayes had one solo block.
“The girls served really aggressive tonight,” said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. “We had a few long runs in both sets. They are focused on making blocking adjustments and did that tonight with several blocks. It was a good night.”
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was led by Allison Shields with two kills and seven digs, Jalizah Bowlin with two kills and three aces, Zoe Sarver with two blocks and Natalie Tucker with six assists.
Windsor/Stew-Stras also claimed the junior varsity match 25-9, 25-19 to improve to 10-1.
CHBC claimed the freshsman/sophomore contest, 25-23, 28-26. WSS dropped to 4-6-4.

Holsapple finished with three blocks in the contest.

Effingham High School fell to Mount Zion in junior varsity and varsity action Tuesday.
The Hearts lost the varsity match, 25-19, 25-12 to drop to 11-9 on the season. EHS was led by Bailey Bohnhoff with three kills and five digs, Camdyn Burgholzer with four assists, Kallie Phillips with three blocks and Macy Kirk with five digs.
In junior varsity action, Mount Zion was a winner, 13-17, 25-25, 15-13.
The Hearts won the freshman/sophomore match, 22-25, 25-16, 15-8.
