Effingham played host to Teutopolis in high school volleyball competition and captured victories in both junior varsity and varsity play Monday.
The Hearts won the varsity contest, 25-16, 25-17 to improve to 6-5 on the season.
Camdyn Burgholzer led EHS in kills with eight and assists with six. Macy Kirk had 12 digs. Kallie Phillips led in blocks with three and Macy Kirk had one ace.
Leading T-town were Pals and G. Tegeler with one block each, Tarter with 13 digs, Willenborg with six kills, C. Mette and Willenborg with one ace each and Jordan with 30 sets and 11 assists.
In the junior varsity contest, Effingham was a 25-21, 25-14 winner.
The Shoes won the freshman/sophomore match, 25-20, 25-20.

At Altamont
South Central came calling and handed Altamont a loss in two sets, 25-16, 25-19 Monday.
Maddie Peddicord led the Cougars in digs with nine and aces with three. Mya Schaal led in kills with 10 and had one block. River Yingst also had one block and led in assists with Sophie Wodtka with six each.
South Central improved to 8-2 in varsity play.
Altamont was led by Adilyn Schnarre with eight assists, Lydia Aldrich with seven digs and two kills and Abigail Wills, Keely Fleeharty and Aldrich with one ace each.
In the junior varsity match, South Central won 25-21, 25-12 and claimed the freshman/sophomore contest 25-8, 25-16.
South Central improved to 8-2 in varsity play, 5-2 in JV action and 2-0-3 in freshman/sophomore play. The Cougars won’t return to action until Saturday at the Vandalia Tournament.

St. Elmo/Brownstown picked up an Egyptian Illini Conference win over Ramsey Monday.
The Eagles won 25-8, 25-13 to remain unbeaten in the EIC at 3-0 and is 9-1 overall.
Peyton Barker led the winners in kills with six and aces with three. Mya Barker led in digs with eight. Addison Koonce had 18 assists.
St. Elmo/Brownstown returns to competition today against Dieterich.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg tallied a two-set victory over Sullivan Monday, 25-21, 25-16.
Brooke Schumacher led the team in aces with four. Mya Friese led in kills with 10. Kendra Hayes had 18 assists and eight digs. Brooke Schumacher had four block assists.
“After a tough weekend at the Crossroads Classic, the girls were able to make some adjustments on offense tonight to help take the win,” said WSS Coach Ronda Schlecte. “T-town should give us some great competition so we are looking forward to that.”
Windsor/Stew-Stras improved to 7-3 and return to action today against Teutopolis.
The Hatchets fell in the junior varsity match, 15-25, 25-17, 16-14 to drop to 4-1.
In freshman/sophomore play, Sullivan was a winner 26-24, 25-11. WSS drops to 4-2-2.

Newton kept its record clean by downing Carmi, 25-15, 25-12 Monday evening.
The Eagles were led by Hermann with five aces, Schackmann with seven kills, Stanley with 20 assists, Thomann with seven digs and Probst with two blocks.
Newton is now 11-0 on the season and back in action today at Charleston.
In junior varsity play, Newton won 25-12, 25-15 and split the freshman/sophomore contest, losing 25-18 and winning 25-18.

Cumberland was a winner over Arcola in varsity competition Monday evening.
The Pirates won 25-9, 25-12. Mia Holsapple led the winners in kills with six while Alysa Dittamore led in assists with 14. Holsapple, Dittamore and Katie McElravy had four aces each. Mackenzie Claybaugh and Madelyn McElravy led in digs with four each.
Cumberland also won the junior varsity match, 25-20, 25-16.
Cumberland is back in action Thursday hosting Altamont.
