There will be 20 total athletes, including alternates headed to the Class 3A State Track meet for Effingham Junior High School.
The seventh-grade girls and eighth-grade girls placed second overall as teams. The seventh-grade boys and eighth-grade boys finished eighth place overall.
STATE QUALIFIERS:
8th Grade Girls SMR — (C. Bailey, A. Gouchenouer, R. Holland & A. Barnhart). Huge PR by nearly 11 seconds and bringing home second place
7th grader A. Gouchenouer — Qualified in the 100m and is a sectional champion
8th Grade Girls 4×200 — (C. Bailey, A. Gouchenouer, R. Holland & K. Kelly) PR performance and sectional champions.
7th grader K. Rohr — sectional champion in the 400 with a PR and sectional champion in the long jump.
8th grader R. Holland — Qualified in the 400m with a PR.
7th grader L. Ring — State qualifier in Pole Vault
8th grader M. Hites — State qualifier in Pole Vault with a PR
8th grader J. Klingler — Qualified the 1600m and 800m. PR in the 800m
7th Grade Boys 4×200 — (T. Reed, E. Yeager, N. Hamilton & J. Zellers) PR performance and sectional champions.
7th grader J. Zellers — State qualifier in the 400m
7th Grade Boys 4×400 (E. Yeager, T. Reed, N. Hamilton & J. Zellers) Nearly a 9-second PR.
