The Effingham Junior High track team traveled to Mattoon Thursday to compete in the South Central Conference Championship.
“A huge congratulations to our eighth-grade girls for becoming back-to-back South Central Conference champions,” said EJHS Coach Nancy Ervn. “They had an absolute monster performance on the track and the field last night. Another big congratulations to our seventh-grade girls who also brought home the conference championship. They came from behind to take the top spot and impressed us all with their determination and heart
“Both boys teams finished in third place. They had some outstanding performances and competed hard all night long.

Kelly — 8th grade girls 100m, 7th grade boys Sprint Medley Relay team of C. Ault, L. Eckert, E. Yeager & E. Gordon, J. Klingler — 8th grade boys 1600m & 800m and K. Hawker — 8th grade boys 200m
