The Neoga Booster Club had a post recently that Neoga High School hosted its first home track meet after 23 years April 30.

The brand new track facility was celebrated in honor of Tim Mueller. Mueller was the long-time track and cross country coach at Neoga who had the dream of bringing an all-weather track to Neoga. Mueller died in 2022 at the age of 55. He had coached at Neoga High School for 20 years.

A small junior high meet was held with teams from North Clay and Villa Grove. Neoga’s seventh-grade boys and girls and the eighth-grade boys and girls all finished in first place.

Neoga’s post included — From the excitement on the track to the pride from the spectators, it was truly a day to remember. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this historic event such a success. Here’s to many more meets and memories ahead.
