The Effingham Athletic Department runs an Athlete of the Month program each month. Athletes are nominated by head coaches and then voted on by all coaches. Winners receive recognition, a plaque, and a Treign Athlete of the Month shirt. Nomination criteria is as follows: Stats, Accomplishments, Character, Coachability, Leadership and Sportsmanship

Rhylee Holland – JH Track (7th Grade)

Rhylee consistently demonstrates an incredible work ethic. She is highly receptive to feedback from her coaches and always tries to apply their advice, which is reflected in her continued improvement on the track.
Recently, Rhylee stepped up to join the 8th-grade 4×400 relay team as a 7th grader, playing a pivotal role in securing their spot at the IESA State Track Meet. In addition to her relay success, she qualified for the State Meet in the 400-meter dash, setting a new personal record, and was also a key member of the 7th-grade 4×200 relay team. Rhylee is one of only four athletes to qualify in three events for State, showcasing her versatility and dedication. — Coach Nancy Ervin

Kellen Richmond – JH Track (8th Grade)

Kellen had an amazing Track season. He earned 1st in almost every event in every meet. He was injured later in the season and worked hard to come back strong. By sectionals he was ready run and qualified for state in 3 or his 4 events. I look forward to seeing what he can do in high school. — Coach Becky Quandt
