Effingham High School finished out regular season tennis action by blanking Shelbyville, 9-0 Tuesday.
The Hearts’ Rece Kinney and Brady Wilson won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 and No. 4 respectively.
Cannon Bockhorn took a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Joel Flack reversed that score to 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3.
Keaton Kellams won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 and Carson Jones went 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6.
In doubles play, Flack and Wilson combined to win 6-2, 6-0 at the top spot. Noah Jones and C. Jones won 6-4, 6-2 and Rowyn Frey and Andrew Kull took the final spot, 6-4, 7-5.
The Hearts finished regular season play with a 14-3 record. The Hearts will begin sectional competition Friday at the Robinson Sectional along with Effingham St. Anthony, Newton, Teutopolis, Casey-Westfield, Flora, Mount Carmel, Olney/Richland County and Robinson.
