TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis easily handled Mattoon to the tune of 8-1 in high school tennis action Thursday.
The Wooden Shoes claimed five of the six singles matches.
Derek Schmidt was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at the top spot. Tommy Habing won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2. Xavier Schumacher fought for the win at No. 4, 6-3, 4-6, 10-5. Jonathon Wells also battled at No. 5, winning 7-5, 0-6, 10-7. Grayson Schmidt won handily at No. 6, 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles play, Habing and Schmidt combined to win the No. 1 spot, 6-1, 6-1. Jonathon Wells and Xavier Schumacher fought for the win at No. 2, 7-6, 6-7, 14-12. Eli Weber and Payne Davidson were winners at No. 3, 6-3, 7-6.
