Effingham made it to the 3A State Softball Tournament for the third straight year in Junior High Softball. Unfortunately their season came to a close at Champion Fields in Normal at the hands of Geneseo Friday. The Mustangs fell by a score of 9-2. Their season came to a close with a record of 14 wins and 5 losses.
Newton Jasper County brought home the 4th Place Title from the 2A State Softball Tournament. They won their opening game scoring two runs in the bottom of the 6th inning and held on for the 2-0 win over Rushville Schuyler Industry in Friday’s quarter-final. Newton lost to eventual champion Metamora 6-1 in the Saturday semi-final. Later in the falling to St. Joseph 7-3 to finish 4th. Newton Jasper County season ends with an 18-5 record.
