 Junior High Softball Regionals — September 12 Results

South Central was a winner in the Class 1A St. Elmo Junior High Softball Regional Saturday.

South Central defeated Neoga, 8-2 and advances to sectional action at Hutsonville Tuesday. South Central is 18-3 and will meet West Salem (11-2) which was a 10-6 winner over Oblong to claim the Dieterich Regional Saturday.

South Central and Neoga were tied at 2-2 after the first inning. South Central then moved into a 3-2 lead in the third then added on two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth.

Skylar Webster tossed a no-hitter giving up five walks while striking out 12.

Webster aided her own cause with a double and an RBI while Raelyn Parker had three singles. Violet Skibinski added a single and three RBI while Ellie Williams had two singles and Lexy Garrett a single and an RBI.

“We won our fifth straight regional title,” said South Central Coach Alex Phillips.

South Central advances with an 18-3 record to face West Salem (11-2) at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Hutsonville Sectional.

Class 2A Lawrenceville Parkview Regional

Jasper County edged Casey-Westfield 1-0 to win the Lawrenceville Parkview Regional Saturday.

Jasper County (16-3) advances to the Cumberland Sectional Tuesday and will face host Cumberland (19-0) at 4:30 p.m.

 

Class 2A Teutopolis Regional

Cumberland was the winner over Teutopolis to claim the regional championship Saturday.

Cumberland (19-0) tallied a 9-4 victory and will now play host to sectional play Tuesday and face Jasper County (16-3) at 4:30 p.m.

 

Class 3A

In Class 3A Tuesday, Effingham will be hosting its own sectional and will take on Mahomet-Seymour at 4:30 p.m.
