TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis played host to Effingham St. Anthony in junior high softball action and captured a 12-7 victory Monday.

The Shoes moved into a 1-0 lead in the second inning. St. Anthony came back with two runs in the third but the Shoes moved ahead 5-2 in the fourth.

The Bullpups had a five-run fifth to lead 7-5 but here came T-town again with a three-run fifth and finished out with four in the sixth.

T-town had 10 hits led by S. Grunloh with a solo home run, P. Ruholl with a single, triple and two RBI, J. Schmidt with two singles, a double and two RBI, L. Ruholl with a single and an RBI and O. Will with an RBI.

Wells went four innings for the mound victory. She gave up five runs on five hits, one walk and struck out three.

At Teutopolis

Effingham pounded out 17 hits and was aided by four Salem Franklin Park errors in a 19-2 victory Monday.

The Mustangs trailed Franklin Park 2-1 after the first inning but broke loose with a four-run second and ended this game in the fifth via the 10-run rule.

Effingham finished with 17 hits. T. Patton had two singles, a double, triple and two RBI. A. Gouchenouer had a single, double and two RBI while M. Hartke had a single, double and one RBI. K. Rohr had a triple and two RBI and M. Niemerg a triple. K. Roberts added two singles and three RBI while K. Jones had two singles and two RBI. H. Westjohn finished with two singles. E. Moore added a single and two RBI.

M. Niemerg picked up the pitching win, going five innings, giving up two runs on three hits. He walked seven and struck out seven.

Dieterich ran out to an 11-0 opening inning lead against host North Clay and finished with a 15-0 victory in three innings Monday.

Dieterich finished with 12 hits while E. Bruns kept North Clay off the basepaths, allowing only one hit, walking two and striking out seven.

The winners were led by A. Icenogle with a double, triple and one RBI, K. Douthit with a single, double and three RBI, K. Mellendorf with a single, double and two RBI. T. Garcia added a single and double while R. Tegeler had two singles and two RBI. M. Tegeler added a double and an RBI, B. Wendte a single and an RBI, C. Probst two RBI and E. Gruns one RBI.

North Clay was led by F. Flexter with a single.

South Central finished with 11 hits led by A. Gile with three singles and five RBI, R. Parker with three singles and an RBI, E. Williams with a triple and two RBI, L. Garrett with a double and two RBI, V. Skibinski with a single and two RBI and S. Webster and E. Burdine with an RBI each.

Webster went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, four walks while striking out 14.

Altamont was led in hitting by Grasher with a single, double and an RBI, McClellon with a double and two RBI, Kramer with two singles and Corosy with a single and an RBI.
