Altamont traveled to Arthur Okaw Christian, on a last minute added game to the schedule Monday.
“We came out all but in our pjs as we were walking zombies on the field,” said Altamont Coach Eric Morales. “Arthur came out wasting no time having their way with us as we clearly had no idea where we were or what we came to do.
“We played all defense the first half trying to weather the storm as Arthur came roaring out to score three unanswered goals to take the game into the half 3-0 in their favor.
“The second half was much of the same until the we finally woke up 20 minutes in when Jaxon Phillips took a nice cross across the box to find Calvin Bannister to net our first goal of the night.
“Just a few minutes later, Grant Beccue off the substitution came roaring in to find a lose ball and took a shot, only to find the defender attempting to clear it, going into the net giving us our second goal of the night.
“We continued to move the ball forward stopping at nothing finding momentum, trying to cling to a third goal, just missing the by inches on multiple attempts from Calvin and his breakaways.
“But we came up short and ended the game suffering our first loss in two weeks and three days since we last saw Olney.”
The Indians are now 9-3-2 on the season and will turn around and host Salem Tuesday.
