Effingham St. Anthony fell to Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 9-0 in high school soccer competition Tuesday.
“Our players continue to play hard through adversity,” said St. Anthony Coach Martin Reyes. “We are very proud of the hard work that our players displayed today, even as we were missing six players due to injuries, and sickness.
“We would like to highlight all of the players for their improvement, effort and dedication, especially our captain Mason Jones (senior) for his unstoppable work and leadership, and Levi Flowers (freshman) for his leadership in the defensive line.
“We look forward to getting healthy, and continue to improve. Thanks to the fans and supporters.”
