SPRINGFIELD — Altamont’s Kyle Husted drove five winners at the Illinois State Fair harness races Wednesday.
Husted’s first victory came in the Three-Year-Old Colts & Geldings Pace. He drove Yf Ima Truestar to the victory in 1:56.
His second win was in the Three-Year-Old Fillies Pace. Husted guided League Of Her Own to the victory in 1:54 1/5. The third win was in the Three Year Olds & Up Trot. He sat behind Easter Jack who won in 1:54.
Husted then won the Four-Year-Olds & Up Horses & Gendlings Pace with Doctor Cruise. The duo went the distance in 1:51 4/5.
Husted guided Fox Valley Tessa to victory in the Four-Year-Olds & Up Mares Pace. The duo won in 1:54.
Wyatt Avenatti continued his winning ways this season with a victory in the Two-Year-Old Colts & Geldings Trot with Abc Gangster. The pair won in 1:59. Avenatti came right back in the next race,
Avenatti was a winner behind Lous Madison in the Three-Year-Old Fillies Trot. The pair went the distance in 1:55.3. Then he went the distance with Great Seats in the Three-Year-Olds & Up Fililes Pace in 1:52.4.
Avanetti won his fourth race in the Four-Year-Olds & Up Horses & Geldings Pace. He guided Fox Valley Steeler to the victory in 1:54.
Trainer Darla Martin Lohman’s horse, Mound Station won in the Two-Year-Old Fillies Trot in 2:01 4/5. Matthew Avenatti was the driver.
Harness racing today at the Illinois State Fair has been canceled due to heavy rains.
