The Effingham Athletic Department runs an Athlete of the Month program every month. Athletes are nominated by coaches based upon the following criteria: Stats, Accomplishments, Character, Coachability, Leadership and Sportsmanship.
March 2026 Effingham High School Winners are:
Keagyn Koenig, Soph. — Track & Field
“Keagyn has once again been having an outstanding track season. She has already made a remarkable impact by earning 3rd place at Indoor State in the shot put, where she also set a new school record. Along with this she continues to balance both softball and track matching the physical demands of being a dual sport athlete while also continuing to excel, compete, and show up for her teammates! Very excited to see what she has in store during outdoor season in both shot and disc.” — Coach Shayna Scott
Carter Braddy, Jr. — Baseball
“In eight games he had 16 hits with a .552 avg., 15 RBIs, eight stolen bases, and only struck out twice. On the mound Carter threw 11 innings going 2-0, struck out 19 batters while only giving up six hits and two earned runs.” — Coach Curran McNeely
