Several area girl golfers advanced to State after competing at the Class 1A Roxana Sectional Monday.
St. Anthony, Effingham, Newton and Windsor golfers competed.
Effingham senior Allison Kroenlein shot a 79 and will be advancing to the State Golf Tournament at Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington Friday and Saturday.
St. Anthony finished sixth as a team shooting a 351. But only one individual advanced and that was Brooklyn Phillips who was ninth with a 79.
Also competing were Gianna Frisbie 87, Adria Moberly 88, Liza Kuhns 97, Tenley Sams 98 and Lucy Bierman 106.
Quincy Notre Dame won the team championship with a 320 followed by Carthage Illini West 357, Pleasant Plains 367, Monticello 377, Moweaqua Central A&M 396, Litchfield 406, Auburn 410, Villa Grove 419, Hillsboro 425, Taylorville 426, Heyworth 455 and Clinton 467.
In the Rochester Sectional, Windsor’s Olivia Vonderheide shot a 100 while teammate Kinsley Dunaway shot a 106, but did not advance.
