ROBINSON — Effingham St. Anthony advanced as a team at the Class 1A Robinson Girls Golf Regional Tuesday.
Salem won the regional team title with 343 followed by St. Anthony 346, Mount Carmel 348, Teutopolis 384, McLeansboro Hamilton County 386, Effingham 388, Olney, Richland County 410, Robinson 411, Vandalia 458, Flora 469, Carmi-White County 484, Norris City-Omaha-Enfield 525 and Oblong 547.
Competing for the Bulldogs were Gianna Frisbie with an 84, Brooklyn Phillips with an 86, Adria Moberly with an 87, Tenley Sams with an 89, Lucy Bierman with a 96 and Liza Kuhns with a 100.
Medalist for the regional was Robinson’s Leah Correll with a 69.
Salem and St. Anthony advanced as teams along with 10 individuals.
Among the individuals advancing from the area were Effingham’s Allison Kroenlein with an 87 and Gieah Schlanser with a 90, Newton’s Haley Ochs and Peyton Lindley, both with a 76 and Teutopolis’ Ella Hemmen with a 92.
Altamont had three girls competing. Cecilia Pearcy shot a 113 followed by Meghan Goeckner 138 and Kenzie Zumwalt 155. The three did not advance.
St. Anthony, Salem and Mount Carmel advance as teams while the individuals advancing head to the Roxana Sectional at Belk Park Golf Course in Wood River Monday, October 5.
Class 1A Mattoon Regional
Two individuals from Windsor advanced from the Mattoon Regional Tuesday.
Moweaqua Central A&M won the team championship with a 393 followed by Mattoon 425, Villa Grove 439, Arcola 442, Windsor 444, Charleston 449, Mount Zion 471, Shelbyville 491, Marshall 544, Macon Meridian 569 and Sullivan 573.
Windsor’s Olivia Vonderheide, a sophomore, tallied a 92 while Kinsley Dunaway tallied a 101. They were among the top 10 individuals to advance.
Moweaqua Central A&M, Mattoon and Villa Grove advance as teams along with 10 individuals to the Rochester Sectional at Lincoln Greens in Springfield Monday, October 5.
