Newton High School traveled to Bethalto Civic Memorial and suffered a 36-26 football loss Friday.
Bethalto edged out to a 14-13 opening quarter lead then led 23-13 at halftime. The two teams scored the13 points each in the second half.
Eli Wolf scored two touchdowns, one passing for the Eagles. He connected on six of 14 passes for 142 yards.
Hayden Mulvey scored on two passing touchdowns for 172 yards. Maddox Horner caught five for 179 yards and a TD while Fulton had nine receptions for 109 yards and two touchdowns.
Wolf had a rushing touchdown and finished with 43 yards. Mulvey had four carries for 26 yards.
Defensively, Henry Will had three solo tackles and five assists for eight. Harrison Kinkade had five solos and two assists for seven while Carson Jones had two solos and three assists for five.
