SHELBYVILLE — Effingham St. Anthony’s girls squad finished fifth while the boys team placed 13th at the Shelbyville Cross Country Invitational Saturday.
Competing for the Bulldogs girls were Mae Niebrugge 20th in 14:31.8, Morgan Kabbes 25th in 14:40.4, Maddie Yockey 42nd in 15:14.0, Josie Ludwig 53rd in 15:42.5, Ella Fearday 69th in 16:23.1 and Emily Mattson 55th in 23:47.9.
Competing for the boys were Isaac Tays eighth in 16:31.3, Elijah Whittier 19th in 16:55.4, Max Schuette 20th in 16:58.3, Brady Rivas 61st in 19:58.2 and Henry Gannaway 97th in 22:20.6.
Competing for the Dieterich girls were Lena Goebel 13th in 20:18.34, Violet Iffert 41st in 24:27.44, Avery Bohnhoff 55th in 26:08.24, Bailey Hewkin 59th in 26;41.85, Allie Wright 60th in 26:42.44, Halo Homann 62nd in 26:55.45, Ava Niemerg 67th in 27:36.16, Coraline Homann 78th in 28:54.54 and Faith Hewkin 86th in 31:48.93. The team finished sixth.
Competing for the Dieterich boys were Rhett Douthit 48th in 13:19.63, Russell Mammoser 64th in 13:56.74, Logan Huebner 65th in 13:58.45, Evan Pape 85th in 14:47.31, Holden Maag 106th in 15:55.64, Auggie Jasnen 120th in 16;34.51 and Karter Overbeck 136th in 18;16.33. The team finished 11th.
Competing for Altamont in the girls meet was Reagan Winter fourth in 18:33.74
Teutopolis’ M. Peterson was 16th in 21:06.60. Kenzi Dust was 24th in 21:53.90. Abigail Zane was 31st in 22:57.52 and Pearl Huber was 44th in 24:44.65.
Neoga’s Lily Browning finished 18th in 21:22.26. Jemma Lawyer was 20th in 21:26.13 while Paige Wolke finished 21st in 21:26.29. Jude Miller finished 28th in 22:06.09. Lila Light was 34rd in 23:40.63 while Molly Moran was 38th in 24:11.63. Lily Shuemaker was 43rd in 24:39.57. Cece Chardon was 53rd in 25:58.87. Amelia Colner was 71st in 28:05.17 and Audrey Edwards was 83rd in 30:00.05.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City’s E. Flores was 45th in 24:45.13. Laney Doty was 49th in 25:26.93. Elaina Thompson finished 54th in 25:59.25. Ava Watson was 63rd in 26:56.75.
Shelbyville’s Leah Shoaff won the meet with a time of 17:41.61.
At Peoria
Cumberland boys cross country team competed in the First to the Finish Meet at Detweiller Park in Peoria Saturday.
The meet featured 67 teams and 777 individual runners.
Cumberland’s boys finished sixth as a team. Medalists were Cameron Roedl fourth, Colby Roedl 20th and Gavin Whitaker 50th.
“All the boys ran a great race with many recording season-best times,” said Justin Roedl. “It was a great day of racing and another strong showing for Cumberland cross country.”
