Teutopolis handed Newton an 8-1 loss in junior high baseball competition Friday.
The Wooden Shoes held a 4-1 lead after two innings then tallied four more in the third. T-town had 11 hits led by C. Mette with a single, triple and three RBI, C. Kremer with a single and double, E. Weidner with two singles and two RBI and D. Althoff with a single and an RBI.
Kremer was the winning pitcher. He went three innings giving up one run on five hits and walking two.
Newton had seven hits led by E. Geier with a single, double and an RBI.

Effingham St. Anthony downed Flora Floyd Henson Saturday by an 8-4 count.
The Bullpups had eight hits led by J. Gilmore with two doubles and two RBI, D. Verdeyen, R. Wohltman and H. Bierman with a single and an RBI each.
St. Anthony edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead, tacked on single runs in the second and fourth around three runs in the third and had two in the fifth.
N. Hoene went 3.1 innings for the pitching win, giving up one run on one hit, one walk while striking out seven.
