Several area coaches earned Coach of the Year honors from the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA).
These coaches will be honored at the annual Coach of the Year Luncheon on Saturday, May 2 at CEFCU Arena on the campus of Illinois State University.
High school girls Coaches of the Year from this area include:
Tim Pasley (Brownstown/St. Elmo), Brandon Miller (Cumberland), Jeff Schafer (Effingham) and Laurie Thompson (Teutopolis).
High school boys Coaches of the Year from this area include:
John Niebrugge (Altamont) and Chester Reeder (Teutopolis).
The Junior high school boys Coaches of the Year from this area are:
Jason Ludwig (St. Anthony), Callaway Compton (Dieterich), Doug Smith (Teutopolis), Nikki Worman (Stewardson-Strasburg) and Kent J. Niebrugge (Teutopolis).
Junior high school girls Coaches of the Year from this area include:
Carsen Funneman (Dieterich) and Eric Roley (Teutopolis).
