 T-town, Altamont Capture High School Baseball Victories

TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis finished out at 17-3 on the fall high school baseball season with a 13-3 pounding of Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Saturday.

The two teams were tied at 1-1 in the first inning. T-town then moved into a 4-1 lead with three runs in the second and tacked on three more in the third.

The Shoes finished with 12 hits and was aided by four CORL errors.

A. Lustig had two singles, a double and an RBI while J. Kocher added a single, double and an RBI. C. Cornell finished with a double and two RBI. L. Niebrugge, B. Niebrugge and K. Mette added a single and an RBI each while T. Pals and A. Niemerg had an RBI each.

B. Niemerg went the first four innings on the mound for the win. He gave up one run on four hits, one walk while striking out nine. W. Bushur came on to finish the last two innings, giving up two runs on two hits, one walk while striking out six.

Niemerg sports a 3-0 pitching record.

The Shoes end the fall baseball season and won’t be back in action until March 16 in a game at Neoga.

At Woodlawn

Altamont waited until the final three innings before breaking loose with three runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh for a 9-4 victory over Woodlawn Saturday.

Both teams had nine hits and Woodlawn finished with three errors.

C. Milleville hit a solo homer for the Indians while R. Stuemke added three singles and an RBI, J. Childerson a single and double and K. Wolff a double and an RBI.

Wolff went five innings on the mound. He gave up three runs on six hits, five walks while striking out seven. J. Neu came in to finish out the final two innings, giving up one run on three hits, two walks and striking out three.
