Dieterich and Effingham St. Anthony are headed to State in junior high baseball after winning sectionals Saturday.
At Paris Crestwood
Dieterich moved into a 3-0 opening inning lead against Paris Crestwood at the Class 1A Paris Crestwood Sectional Saturday.
Dieterich finished out with a 13-1 victory in six innings behind a 12-hit attack.
Leading the way were Nussmeyer with two singles and three RBI, Keck and Funneman with two singles and two RBI each, Bohnhoff with two singles and an RBI and Stortzum with a single and two RBI.
Keck picked up the pitching win, going 5.2 innings, giving up one run on four hits, two walks while striking out five.
Dieterich takes a 16-3-1 record to the Class 1A State Tournament Friday at Eastside Centre in East Peoria. Dieterich meets Pawnee (15-2) at 2 p.m.

Effingham St. Anthony finished this game against Paris Mayo with an 11-3 victory Saturday at the Class 2A Lawrenceville Parkview Sectional.
The Bullpups tallied 11 hits in the contest while Verdeyen held Paris Mayo to five hits.
Verdeyen went 6.1 innings, giving up three runs on five hits, four walks while striking out three.
St. Anthony moved ahead 3-1 in the opening inning then tacked on single runs in the third and sixth innings around four in the fourth and two in the fifth.
D. Verdeyen had two singles, a double and three RBi while J. Gilmore had a double and two RBI. J. Dust contributed three singles and two RBI and R. Wohltman a single and an RBI.
St. Anthony improved to 14-3 and will now face Peru Parkside (11-2) at the Class 2A State Tournament at Eastside Centre in East Peoria Friday at 2:30 p.m.
