NEOGA — Neoga scored a run in the bottom of the sixth and that proved to be the winner in an 8-7 victory over South Central in high school baseball action Friday.
Neoga moved into a 2-0 opening inning lead. South Central tied in the top of the second and moved ahead 6-2 in the top of the fourth. However, the Indians came back with four to knot the score again in the bottom of the fourth at 6-6.
Neoga moved ahead with a run in the bottom of the fifth but South Central tied in the top of the sixth before the Indians won it in the bottom of the frame.
Both teams had nine hits. G. Ballinger led in hitting with a single and two triples while C. Lanham had a single, double and an RBI. E. Fearday added two singles and an RBI while B. Sparrow had a single and an RBI and C. Hakman an RBI.
South Central was led by L. Shumate with three singles and an RBI, R. Dodson with a double and three RBI and S. Kruger with two singles.
E. Fearday went three innings for the pitching win with one strikeout and five hits.

Teutopolis improved to 15-2 on the season with a doubleheader victory over South Central Saturday.
T-town won the opener 9-4 behind an 11-hit attack. The Wooden Shoes moved into a 3-2 opening inning lead. South Central scored two to take a 4-3 lead in the second. But T-town tied in the top of the third.
The Shoes then moved ahead for good in the fifth with a run and added two more in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
A. Niemerg led the way in hitting with three singles and an RBI while A. Lustig had two singles and two RBI. H. Tebbe had a single and three RBI, K. Mette a single and two RBI and B. Niebrugge a single and an RBI.
South Central was led by A. Hoover, G. Shumate, S. Kruger and E. Hiestand with a single each.
B. Niemerg took the pitching win. He went all seven innings, giving up no runs on four hits, one walk while striking out eight.
In the second game, T-town went out to a 2-0 opening inning lead and ended this game in the fifth via the 10-run rule, 10-0.
The Shoes had four hits led by C. Cornell with a single and an RBI and J. Kocher with two RBI, A. Grunloh added an RBI.
South Central’s lone hit was a double by C. Tockstein.
B. Niebrugge went two innings for the win. He did not allow a hit and gave up three walks.
T-town improves to 15-2 on the season while South Central is 9-9.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg came calling and handed Altamont a 15-2 loss in five innings Saturday.
The Hatchets finished with 16 hits led by Duncan with two doubles and three RBI, Pruemer with a single, triple and three RBI, Gurgel with a single, double and two RBI, Jones with four singles and two RBI, Gurgel with a single, double and two RBI, McCray with two singles and three RBI and Vonderheide with an RBI.
McCray went four innings for the mound victory. He gave up two runs on six hits, two walks and struck out four.
Altamont was led by R. Stuemke with a single, double and an RBI, J. Hunt with a double and C. Milleville and K. Davis with two singles each. K. wolff added an RBI.
