NEOGA — Neoga moved into a 2-0 opening inning lead but that didn’t last long as Effingham St. Anthony put together a 10-hit attack and claimed a 6-2 high school baseball victory Tuesday.
The Bulldogs came back scoring five runs in the second and finished out with one in the fifth.
St. Anthony finished with 10 hits led by Jonny Gannaway, Chase Dorris and Connor Storm with two singles each. Dorris added an RBI. Blake Verdeyen and Quentin Storm finished with a single and two RBI each. Curtis Tingley added an RBI.
Hayden Bushur went five innings on the mound with a one-hitter. He gave up five walks and struck out 11.
Neoga’s hit was a single and an RBI by M. Coy and an RBI by C. Hakman.

Dieterich stepped out to a 4-0 opening inning lead and went on for an 11-5 victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday.
The Maroons held a 6-5 lead after three innings then tacked on a single run in the fourth and four in the fifth.
CHBC had three hits, singles by Hardimon and Davis and a double and an RBI by Wells.

The Cardinals finished with eight hits and BSE had three errors.
Jayce Gillespie had a triple for BSE while Gavin Schnarre had two singles and an RBI.
Brownstown/St. Elmo dropped to 1-6 in the National Trail Conference and 6-7 overall. BSE is back in action today agianst Cisne.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg scored eight runs in the fourth inning and claimed an 11-6 victory over South Central Tuesday.
The Hatchets edged out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning but South Central came back, scoring six in the third to move ahead.
But here came WSS with an eight-run fourth and a final run in the fifth.
Grayson McCray hit a two-run homer and had a sacrifice fly, scoring two more runs for four RBI. Brody Barnard tripled, scoring three runs. Parker Duncan had two hits.
Garrett Shumate had two hits and two RBI for South Central while Luke Shumate and Jordan Smith had a hit and an RBI each.
