COWDEN — Altamont pushed into a 3-1 opening inning lead and went on to down Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 11-1 in six innings of high school baseball competition Tuesday.
Altamont put together 12 hits and was aided by four CHBC errors.
CHBC had three hits, all singles by Hardimon, Vaughn and Kircher.

At Dieterich
Dieterich moved into a 2-0 opening inning lead then had to fight off Brownstown/St. Elmo for an 11-7 victory Tuesday.
BSE moved ahead 3-2 in the top of the second and led 4-3 after four. But Dieterich came back with a 3-1 fifth inning run to move ahead 7-5. The Maroons then had five-run sixth.
No information was provided by Dieterich.
Brownstown/St. Elmo dropped to 1-4 in the National Trail Conference and 5-4 overall. The team returns to action Thursday against Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran at Greenville College.

Neoga came calling and went home with a 7-3 victory over South Central Tuesday.
The two teams were tied at 1-1 after two innings. Neoga moved ahead 4-3 in the third then added on three more runs in the seventh.
B. Matusas led the way in hitting for the winners with a double and three RBI while C. Hakman had a double and one RBI. G. Ballinger added a double. G. Haarman finished with a single and an RBI and W. Andrews added an RBI.
South Central was led by C. Tockstein with a single, double and an RBI, E. Hiestand with two singles and L. Shumate with a single and an RBI.
C. Hakman picked up the pitching win. He went seven innings, giving up three runs on seven hits, three walks while striking out four.

North Clay was a winner over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg by a 5-3 count Tuesday.
Grayson McCray had two hits for Windsor/Stew-Stras while Mason Manhart finished with two RBI. Wyatt Wetherell had two stolen bases.
North Clay ended with seven hits while the Hatchets had five hits.
At Teutopolis
Teutopolis moved into a 3-0 first inning lead and never looked back in a 7-2 victory over Woodlawn Tuesday.
L. Niebrugge went two innings on the mound for the win. He gave up one run on two hits, one walk and struck out two.
The Shoes, meanwhile, had 11 hits led by A. Grunloh with a single, double and three RBI, J. Kocher with three singles and two RBI, B. Schumacher with a triple, M. Habing with two singles, A. Lustig with a single and an RBI and E. Weidner with an RBI.
