The South Central Cougars pounded Wayne City 17-2 in five innings in Thursday night baseball action.
Three pitchers allowed two runs on four hits, two walks, and 7 strikeouts with Luke Shumate getting the win.
South Central put six runs on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning. The Cougars pushed across seven more runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth. The Cougars plated their final two runs in the fifth.
Aidan Strobel led the way offensively with four hits and 4 RBI. Sebastian Kruger had three hits and drove in three runs, and Ryker Dodson collected three hits and drove in a run.
The Cougars are now 5-1 on the season and have a National Trail Conference matchup Friday playing Altamont at 7pm.
