Effingham Junior High School was a 10-7 winner over Hillsboro in baseball competition Wednesday.
The Mustangs broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the top of the third but Hillsboro tallied three in the bottom of the frame. Effingham tied the score in the fifth then pushed ahead with a five-run sixth.
Effingham had 12 hits led by K. Koeberlein with a single, three doubles and three RBI, L. Eckert with three singles, J. Hoene with a single, double and an RBI and M. Patnaude with two singles and an RBI.
