Teutopolis edged Effingham St. Anthony 8-7 in junior high baseball competition Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes moved into a 6-1 opening inning lead. St. Anthony came back with a run in the first, two in the third, three in the fourth and pulled ahead 7-6 in the fifth with five runs. But T-town tallied two in the top of the sixth to claim the win.

C. Bloemer had a double and an RBI while M. Kocher finished with two singles and two RBI. D. Deters added two singles and E. Weidner and J. Sandschafer had a single and an RBI each.

Bloemer tossed the final two innings for the pitching victory. She gave up no runs, one hit, one walk and struck out two.

St. Anthony was led by C. McAllaster with two doubles and an RBI, J. Dust and J. Gilmore with a single, double and two RBI each and R. Wohltman with two singles.

At Dieterich

Dieterich moved into an 8-1 lead by the fourth inning and captured a 9-2 victory over Stewardson-Strasburg Tuesday.

Dieterich led 2-1 in the top of the fourth then pushed that lead to 8-1 in the bottom of the frame, scoring six runs.

The winners had nine hits led by Nussmeyer with two singles and two RBI, Bohnhoff with two singles and an RBI, Keck with a single and three RBI and Funneman, Kessler and McQueen with a single and an RBI each.

McQueen was the winning pitcher. He went all seven innings, giving up two runs on seven hits, walking one and striking out four.
