 T-town Blanks Windsor/Stew-Stras, Brownstown/St. Elmo Wins In High School Baseball Action

TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis High School broke loose in the third inning and blanked Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 6-0 in baseball action Monday.

The Wooden Shoes moved into a 2-0 lead in the third inning and finished out with four in the sixth.

A. Niemerg started on the mound for the Shoes, going three innings giving up one hit, walking one and striking out seven for the win. B. Niebrugge came on to toss three innings, striking out three and B. Niemerg finished the final inning with a strikeout.

Meanwhile, the Shoes had 11 hits led by H. Tebbe with two singles and two RBI, T. Pals with two singles and an RBI, A. Niemerg with a double and an RBI and E. Weidner with a double.

Windsor/Stew-Stras’ lone hit was a single by M. Manhart.

The Shoes are back in action Wednesday traveling to Paul Smith Field to face Effingham St. Anthony.

At Odin

Brownstown/St. Elmo trailed Odin/Patoka/Sandoval by a 2-0 count until the fourth inning. BSE then tied the game and went on for a 6-4 victory Monday.

Jayce Gillespie led the winners in hitting with two singles, a home run and two RBI. Gavin Schnarre added a double while Nolan Wilhour had a single and an RBI.

Zayden Gillespie went four innings for the pitching win. He gave up three hits, walked four and struck out three. Calvin Voelker earned the save, going three innings, giving up two runs on four hits, one walk and striking out three.

Brownstown/St.Elmo is now 3-0 on the season and is back in action today against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.
