Junior High Boys Baseball — August 22 Results 

Effingham St. Anthony defeated Dieterich Friday in Junior High Baseball with a 10-4 score.

Effingham St. Anthony went on to score six runs in the seventh inning. Will Lustig singled, scoring two runs, Colin Storm singled, scoring one run, Brooks Neibrugge hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run and Paxton Nosbisch singled, scoring two runs.

A sacrifice fly by Storm put St. Anthony on the top in the second inning. James Dust added a run in the third.

McAllaster earned the win for the Bullpups. The right hander surrendered three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking two.

Chase Bohnoff took the loss for Dieterich Junior High. The pitcher went three and one third innings, surrendering four runs on three hits, striking out one and walking six. Henry Bierman tossed one inning of zero-run ball for the Bullpups in relief. The pitcher gave up one hit, striking out one and walking one.

Storm led the way with three runs batted in. Storm went two for three on the day. Ludwig collected two hits for St. Anthony in three at bats. The Bullpups had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 12 walks for the game. Bierman, Ryan Wohltman, Dust, Nash Hoene, and Dylan Verdeyen led the team with two walks each. Hoene and McAllaster each stole multiple bases for the Bullpups. The Pups turned one double play in the game.

Leadoff hitter Bohnhoff led Dieterich with four hits in five at bats.

Effingham St. Anthony will play at home Tuesday against Teutopolis Wooden Shoes for their next game.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis hosted a Round Robin Tournment

In game one, the Shoes defeated Pleasant Plains Middle School with a score of 7-4 Saturday.

Pleasant Plains got two runs in the first inning while the Shoes scored one run. Pleasant Plains added another run in the second inning and one in the seventh.

Teutopolis added three runs in the sixth and seventh ending the score with a 7-4 game.
Deters smacked a home run and finished with three RBI. Kocher had a single and double.

Charlie Koester singled down the right field line, which helped TJHS Wooden Shoes tie the game at three in the bottom of the fourth.

Weidner pitched on the mound for the Wooden Shoes for five strong innings. She had three strikeouts and three walks.

Kocher also pitched an inning, striking out two and walking three.

Teutopolis also played against the Panthers and started out strong with a run in the first inning. Bryson Meyer stepped on the hill first for TJHS Wooden Shoes. The hurler gave up two hits and three runs (zero earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one.

Matthew Kocher and Connor Bloemer were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Wooden Shoes while Koester led with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup.

In the top of the second inning, the Panthers went back into the lead after Nash Hipsher singled down the right field line, the Shoes committed an error, and Ethan Peters was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.
