ST. LOUIS — Chicago fans are gleeful as the Cubs claimed a 10-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday for the second win out of a four-game series.
The Cubs are pounding the Cardinals pitching staff, this game banging out 17 hits. Seiya Suzuki had two singles, a double and two RBI while Ian Happ finished with a single, double and two RBI. Alex Bregman and Pete Ramirez added three singles each and Ramirez had an RBI. Nico Hoerner and Michael Busch had a single each while Horner had two RBI and Busch one. Michael Conforto added two singles.
The Cardinals finished with seven hits led by Masyn Winn with two singles and an RBI and Nathan Church added a single and an RBI.
Colin Rea went six innings for the Cubs, giving up one run on four hits, walking two and striking out two.
The four-game series continues today with a 6:45 p.m. contest and will finish out Thursday with a 1:15 p.m. game.
