COWDEN — Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City handed Meridian a 12-6 loss in high school baseball action Monday.
The Bobcats moved into a 5-1 opening inning lead then tacked on a single run in the second and three runs in both the third and fourth innings.
CHBC had seven hits led by Ben Askins with a single, double and two RBI, Cayden Ondes with a double and two RBI and Connor Vaughn with two singles, a double and three RBI.
Isaac Wells was the winning pitcher, giving up three hits.

At Toledo
Cumberland pushed across two runs in the first inning but trailed 3-2 in the top of the third.
The Pirates then pounced, scoring nine runs in the bottom of the third to lead 11-3. But, here came Dieterich. The Maroons moved into a 12-11 lead in the top of the fifth only to see the Pirates score six in the fifth and six in the sixth for a 23 15- victory.
Cumberland banged out 17 hits, seven of the extra base variety. Grady Jones had two home runs and three RBI while Reed Walker added two singles, a double and four RBI. Maddox Miller had two doubles and four RBI, Kade McMechan a single, double and four RBI and Bryson Weber a single, double and three RBI. Adyn Heuerman added three singles, Hudson McElravy two singles and an RBI and Gavin Keyser an RBI.
Jones went 4.2 innings for the mound victory. He gave up six runs on eight hits, six walks and struck out five.
Dieterich finished with 10 hits led by Jackson Icenogle with a single, double and four RBI, Mason Lidy with a double and two RBI, Dominic Ashley with two singles and two RBI, Bryce Bohnhoff and Gavin Meinhart with two singles and an RBI, Alex Schottman with a single and two RBI and Justin Boerngen with two RBI.

South Central came calling as two National Trail Conference teams met and the Cougars edged Neoga, 3-2 Monday.
Neoga moved into a 1-0 lead in the third inning. South Central then tallied all three of its runs in the fifth inning. Neoga came back with a run in the bottom of the fifth, only to fall short.
South Central had only two hits in the contest but was aided by six Neoga errors. Ryker Dodson had a single and an RBI while Sebastian Kruger added a single
Hudson Moore tossed a two-hitter over four innings for the pitching win. He gave up two walks and struck out six.
Neoga was led by Garrett Ballinger with two singles and an RBI.

At Casey
Newton was the lone team to score in this game and all three runs came in the sixth in a 3-0 victory over Casey-Westfield Monday.
The Eagles finished with six hits, half of those extra base hits. Gavin Meinhart led the way with a home run and two RBI. Reed Tharp and Quincy Fulton had a double each and Dominic Baltzell finished with two singles and an RBI.
Carson Barthelme went the entire seven innings on the mound. He gave up no runs, five hits, walked two and struck out six.
