COWDEN — Neoga and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City went the first three innings without a score Wednesday in high school baseball.
But Neoga broke loose with two runs in the fourth and one in the seventh for the 3-0 victory as two National Trail Conference teams met.
The Indians had four hits led by Braylon Sparrow with two singles. Malik Coy had a single and an RBI and Cayden Hakman a single. Evan Fearday and Grady Haarman had an RBI each.
Brett Matusas went five innings for the pitching win. He gave up two hits, two walks and struck out four.
The Bobcats were led by Ben Askins with two singles and Daithyn Arnold with a double.
At Cowden

At Toledo
Cumberland High School’s Reed Miller hit a walk-off single in the eighth inning as the Pirates edged Arcola, 7-6 Wednesday.
Cumberland moved into a 2-0 opening inning lead but Arcola tied in the second. Cumberland came back to move ahead 4-2 in the fourth.
The Purple Riders scored four runs in the top of the sixth to move ahead 6-4. But the Pirates came roaring back with two runs to tie the score in the bottom of the inning.
Maddox Miller had a solo home run for Cumberland while Grady Jones had a double and two RBI. Adyn Heuerman and Miller had a double and an RBI each. Lance Lock finished with an RBI.
Grady Jones, who came on in relief in the sixth, to earn the win on the mound. He went 2.2 innings, did not give up a hit and struck out six.
The pitching staff that also included starter Miller and Bryson Weber, combined to strike out 15.

At Windsor
Parker Duncan and Mason Manhart combined to toss a no-hitter as Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg pounded Ramsey/Mulberry Grove to the tune of 15-0 in four innings Wednesday.
Duncan went the first 2.1 innings, striking out seven and giving up four walks.
Manhart finished out 1.2 innings with five strikeouts and two walks.
Meanwhile, the Hatchets pounded out 15 hits. Carter Verdeyen had a single, home run and three RBI, Brody Barnard had a single, double and two RBI, Oliver Wascher a double and two RBI and Branson Tingley a double and an RBI.
Grady Spannagel added two singles and two RBI while Derk Friese, Eli Jones and Grayson McCray had a single and an RBI each. Wyatt Wetherell had an RBI.
