Marilyn Joanne May, 65, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Marilyn was born on August 16, 1961, in Nebraska City, NE, the daughter of Scott and Doris (Curtis) Martin.
Marilyn was a hard worker who was always on the go. She loved reality TV, game shows, and dogs of all kinds. Most of all, Marilyn loved her family, and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Misty (David) Paget, Michael May, and Ryan (Kristy) May; grandchildren, Paige, Joseph, Kailea, William, Theo, Jolene, Kaitlynn, and Keagin; great-grandchildren, Kamden, Ezra, Jolinn, and Kyson; siblings, Vicki Lafferty, Sheila Albright, Wanda Wieland, Sonia Phelps, Teresa Estell, Wade McGinnis, Troy Combs, Donna Fields, Amy Bowling, and James Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Scott and Linda Martin and Doris Curtis; son, David Carter May; sister, Starlite Martin; and grandchildren, Leroy Morgan, and Kyla Joanne Kostrzewski.
