Larena D. Belford, 72, of Charleston, IL passed away at 3:27 pm on Thursday October 8, 2026, at her residence.
Per Larena’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life with a burial in the Oblong Cemetery will be at a later date. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.
Larena was born on September 30, 1954, in Chicago Heights, IL to Russell and Lena (Kent) Davis. She married Wayne Belford in 1983, and he preceded her in 2005.
Survivors include daughter Margaret Belford; children Wayne Belford Jr, Rick (Melissa) Belford, Tracy (Kurt) McMahon, and Tina (Brent) Whitaker; 19 grandchildren and several
great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Nikki Davis, brother Lawrence Davis, and sister Barbara Decker.
Larena worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Ridgeview Nursing Center in Oblong, IL for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time watching true crime, documentaries, and the news while scrolling her social media/Facebook. Some of her favorite joys were sharing a birthday with her granddaughter Rilee and visiting with
Mikalah when she came over. Larena has been an avid Chicago Bears fan for many years.
Memorials can be made to the family in care of Barkley Funeral Chapel, Greenup.
