Diana Kay James age 81, of Newton passed away Friday, September 18, 2026, at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, Illinois.
Memorial services to honor Diana’s life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Central Christian Church with Cord Bear officiating.
Diana was born on September 4, 1945, in Wheeler, Illinois the daughter of Carl and Iona (Yoder) James. Diana was a certified nurses’ aide and provided in-home health care. She was a member of the Central Christian Church, Newton. Diana enjoyed many styles of music and loved to watch TV game shows. Her greatest accomplishment and joy were her seven grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Brandy Vanderpol of Grand Rapids, MI; seven grandchildren; sister Ramona Chapman of Hidalgo and brother Calvin “Sonny” James of The Villages, Florida.
Her parents and siblings Carletta French, Scharlene Bear Worthy and Ivy Triesta James preceded her in death.
Crain Funeral Home, Newton is assisting the family with the arrangements.
