Roger Combs, 66, of Altamont, died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Private family burial will follow. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at the funeral home. Memorials may be to a Veteran’s organization of the donor’s choice.
Roger D. Combs was born on Monday September 14, 1959 in Effingham, IL to Gerald E. and Carolyn (Woodyard) Combs. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired machinist with B&L Machine & Design, Effingham.
He is survived by: his mother, Carolyn Combs of Altamont; sisters, Sue Nichols of Arizona, Denise Sharp of Jacksonville, NC and Paula Ellis of Altamont; 8 nieces and nephews, Matthew Stewart, Tara Nichols, Jessica Housinga, Justin Sharp, Samantha Sharp, Mike Colman, Tabitha Weston, and Makayla Ellis and many great nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by: his father, brother-in-law, Don Nichols and niece, Tennille Sharp.
