Judy Evans, 83, of Teutopolis, IL, passed away on July 14, 2026 at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO.
Per Judy’s wishes, no services will be held. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made directly to Effingham County Humane Society, Effingham County Animal Control, or Grundy County Animal Control. Leona “Judy” was born on June 21, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Donald and Margaret “Peg” (Gibbons) Evans. She was married to Carol Gabbert in 2014, but the couple had been together since 1978. Judy enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Judy is survived by her wife, Carol Gabbert of Teutopolis; and many cousins, including Phyllis Harrison, Darald Lee “Scot” Evans Jr., Donald Evans, Jim Evans, and Tammie Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
