Scott James Neggesmith, age 76, of Greenup, IL passed away at 11:58pm on Tuesday July 7th, 2026 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL.
Scott was born June 20th, 1950 in Elgin, IL the son of James and Donna Neggesmith.
He is lovingly remembered by his family, including, Sara (Dustin) Ruholl, Greenup, IL; Those who were blessed to call him Papa Scott, Nathan (Samantha) Busa, Concord, CA; Lyric (Zack) Muncy, Yuba City, CA; Stephanie Flier (Kandice Houser), Effingham, IL; Michael Flier and Becca Layton, both of Greenup, IL; three great-grandsons; and many dear friends. Though not related by blood, he became family in every sense of the word, and his love, guidance, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Scott was a 1968 graduate of Piedmont High School in Piedmont California. He was a talented carpenter whose work lives on throughout the Bay Area in Northern California.
