Jerry Brummett Sr., 71, of Watson, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family in care of Theresa Brummett for funeral expenses. Online condolences may be shared at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com.
Jerry was born on August 7, 1954, in Aurora, IL, to parents Clarence Brummett and Marguerite (Graham) Brummett. He married Theresa Brummett (Florida) on January 3, 1972, and she survives.
Jerry dedicated his entire life to family and work. He worked at Dust & Sons in Effingham for 33 years until his retirement. He was a very loving husband, incredible father and grandfather and will forever be missed by us all. His memory and spirit will be with us always.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Theresa Brummett; sons, Jerry (Brandi) Brummett and Levi (Rebecca) Brummett; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Jack (Patricia) Brummett, Carol (Ron) Nolen, Judy (Charlie) Kuhn, who lovingly called him “Butt”, Janice (Fred) Brown; Denny Brummett, and Kathy Humflett, who lovingly called him “Spike”; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Brummett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dave Brummett.
