Kathleen M. Connor age 72, of Trilla, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
Kathleen was born June 11, 1954 in Great Falls, Montana to beloved mother and father, Mary and Edward Morrissey. She was later raised by a wonderful step father Richard Smith.
She is survived by one brother Terry Morrissey whom she admired for his mountain climbing hobby and always being so level headed in any situation. She had one daughter, Connie Grogg whom she loved dearly and spent most of her days with. She in recent years became a wonderful grandmother “BayBay” to numerous children. She was the best BayBay any child could ask for with so much love and advice to give.
Kathleen worked as a Registered Nurse for many years and served as Director of nursing at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois. She loved her family, her dog Sir Buckston and her dearly departed husband Tom Connor. Together as children and separated by time, rejoined later in life. When they wed and spent many years in Trilla, Illinois building their beautiful life together.
She has a very special relationship with her recently acquainted daughter Connie and her four beautiful children. She adored her daughter-in-law Marissa Deshazo and two young boys. They all often spent many lights together on the property enjoying a good fire, listening to the children laugh and making memories. She will be truly missed by many including life long friends Karen and Joann, and her three step sons she gained from her marriage to her beloved Tom Connor.
Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday July 7, 2026 from 2-5pm with a Life Celebration Service at 5pm at the Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois.
