Jane was born on September 26, 1961 in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Paul and Helen (Gericke) Elliott. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a devoted lifelong member, playing the organ, and serving as the Sunday School Secretary Treasurer for many years. She married Scott Mellendorf on December 6, 1980 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wheeler, and he survives. Jane was dedicated, generous, and loving. She was always there for family and friends when they needed her, and she loved to spoil her grandchildren. Being married, working at Effingham State Bank which later changed to Midland States Bank, and playing the organ for 45 years is a true testament of Jane’s dedication and devotion to the things she held close to her heart. Her memorable laugh, and loving character will be missed by many.

Jane is survived by her husband of 45 years, Scott Mellendorf; daughters, Jennifer (Brent) Swingler and Shelly (Amine) Jarrad; grandchildren, MacKenzie Thilker, Kaden and Madison Swingler, Simon, Leah, Titus, and Adah Jarrad; brothers, Roger (Connie) Elliott and Bruce (Jane) Elliott; mother-in-law, Irma Mellendorf; brothers-in-law, Kent Mellendorf, Keith (Angela) Mellendorf, Steve (Judy Mason) Mellendorf; and sisters-in-law, Brenda Wendling and Glenda Bartels.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Dale Mellendorf; brothers-in-law, Doug Wendling and Gary Bartels; and sister-in-law, Janice Mellendorf.
