Barbara E. Bridges, 93, of Windsor, Illinois, passed away on April 24, 2026, at Heartland Senior Center in Neoga.

Barbara was born on November 26, 1932, in Stewardson, the daughter of Willis and Loda (Ingram) Gordon. On April 23, 1950, she married James E. Bridges in Shelbyville, and together they shared more than 73 devoted years of marriage. Barbara and James farmed in the Windsor area, where she found great satisfaction in the daily work of farm life. Her greatest joys were helping on the farm and spending time with her family. She especially treasured the moments gathered around the table, where her warmth and hospitality were often expressed through the pies for which she was famous. Her home was a place of comfort, good food, and loving memories. Barbara and James were long-time members of Ash Grove Christian Church, where their faith was an important part of their lives. Her life reflected kindness, humility, and a quiet strength that touched those around her.

Barbara was the proud mother of three children, Gary (Janice) Bridges, Kay (Bill) Yakey, and Alan Bridges, all of Stewardson. She was also blessed with five grandchildren, Amy McCoy, Adam (Del Rae) Bridges, Levi (Sarah) Bridges, Brittney (Zach) Wetherell, and Laura (Kyle) Duncan; 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and four sisters, Hazel Rawlings, Helen Lofland, Flo Shadows, and Jean Slifer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Ash Grove Christian Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Cochran’s Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Ash Grove Christian Church and may be mailed to Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 52, Windsor, IL 61957.
