A local woman has been arrested on a series of charges, directly or indirectly related to drugs.
36-year-old Marilinda J. Oehmke of Effingham was arrested Tuesday morning by Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies on counts including possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of a handgun, and armed violence.
Oehmke was also arrested on a warrant from the start of the months-long investigation on counts of methamphetamine trafficking, methamphetamine delivery, controlled substance trafficking, and controlled substance delivery.
The counts are either Class X or Class 1 felonies, that carry substantial prison time if they result in a conviction.
Sheriff’s deputies, along with Effingham City Police and US Drug Enforcement Administration authorities are working together on the case.
