Effingham County Board members Monday approved an employee health insurance incentive. The incentive is up to $1,000/month, along with $2,500 HSA contribution and full HRP coverage.
The Board approved the acquisition of all tax certificates. County Treasurer Deb Ruholl the move will still allow taxpayers to get their money, but at a lower rate. Ruholl said the action will have to be taken each year, and the annual action will help the Connty to know whether they want to take the action.
County Coroner Kim Rhodes said the State Department of Public Health reported that three human West Nile virus deaths occurred in the state, one of which occurred in Effingham County, but which originated in Shelby County.
Two solar hearings have been scheduled in October, the 14th and 15th, each at 5pm, County Clerk Michelle Kollmann reported that Thursday will be the first day to early vote for the November election, and Ruholl reminded that this Friday, September 25, is the deadline to pay at least the first installment of your Effingham County property taxes and avoid a late payment penalty.
Board members recognized National 4-H Week, National Disability Day of Service, International Day of Service, and Chamber of Commerce Week.
The Board also approved a $25,000 disbursement from the revolving loan fund to Jeanine and Jeff Heuerman for digital signage.
