The Altamont City Council gave approval this week to two celebratory events.

A Fall Festival was okayed for noon to 6pm on Saturday, October 10.  Second Street from Madison to Monroe will be closed for the event.

The other approval was given to a Wurst 5K and Brat Trot as a part of the Schuetzenfest at 11am on September 26.

Council members approved a side yard intrusion at 3 South Bond, which will allow the landowner to add a carport to their residence. Also approved was seeking bids on sidewalk replacement and installation on North Third Street and West Lincoln Avenue. Grant funds will pay for the project.

The Council paid Larry Heuerman Trucking for street oiling and joined a Local Debt Recovery Program at no cost to the City. Council members also heard that the Revised Code of Ordinances has been completed. Members also approved an AirMedCare membership for City employees at an annual cost of $75/employee.
