The Effingham County Coroner’s office was called to Zink Apartments in Altamont at 10:50am Monday in reference to a deceased male.
County Coroner Kim Rhodes responded to the apartment and identified the deceased individual as Dylan Osteen, age 37 of Altamont, Illinois. Agencies on scene were: Altamont Police Department, Effingham County Sheriff’s Department and Rural Med EMS and Altamont Fire Department.
Preliminary investigation indicated Dylan Osteen’s death was due to natural causes. Toxicology samples were taken and the results should be available in about two weeks.
Gieseking Funeral Home in Altamont, Illinois was contacted to assist the family.
