Probable cause was found to detain Effingham resident Travis Gillespie in custody on two counts of possession of sex abuse material.
The 54-year-old Gillespie was arrested Thursday morning at a local motel by Illinois Attorney General police.
Judge Ericka Sanders scheduled Gillespie to make his first appearance with counsel on September 17.
